I love Tins, I love books and I love words.
So, this little tin of words (a concertina book) came about because I was not feeling up to much and my best friend, Jane, said why don’t you make another of your little books but this time with paper. I have been doing a lot of journalling with different mediums and enjoy doing it too. Jane had made a beautiful book inspired by an Anne Brooke workshop. This inspired me to make my own. Mine is completely different because I have doodled, added words and then hand stitched it. However, I did use a paper jig which I have bought from Anne. (www.annebrooke.co.uk) it is so much quicker to use rather than measuring and marking the patterns out. Paper Jigs are as old as paper itself. in essence, the oldest paper jigs were simple, custom-made tools designed to provide consistency and precision for specific, often repetitive, tasks involving paper or paper-based materials, from religious art to educational maps.
